Electronics always feel a bit magical: you see the cool results, but often the code an electrons disappear in the finished project. There’s a lot to learn, but you can do a ton with just the basics. To get anywhere in electronics, you’ll need to be ok with not fully understanding everything (until you start using high voltage, where you REALLY need to know everything to be safe).
Below are some resources that can help, but if you get really stuck or just want to learn a little safer, I do tutoring in electronics both online and in person in the Atlanta area. Just send me a message through the contact form at the bottom of this page.
This is a great place for everything from basic circuit building blocks like resistors and capacitors to designing custom PCBs. If you haven’t done any electronics before, start with his Electronics Basics series.
If you want to get into robotics, How To Mechatronics has tons of information on programming Arduinos for mechatronic projects. Start with his tutorial on getting started with an Arduino.
